Sudden Changes

Animation, interaction, and sound... They didn't really have any impact on my game idea, I just prefer the new one... Granted I never really figured out sound, but it's a little late for that...

Flash Drawing

Well... Since the first idea got trashed, I basically had to draw everything freehanded. I would just like to point out that the pen tool is worthless. Honestly, I can't figure the thing out to save an orphan. However, the pencil is even worseIt's like trying to draw a picture by yelling the directions at a three year old through a window. My tools of choice are the shape tools and the brush. At least with the brush you can see what is being added and where it is.

Invasion

Oh yeah! I'm not doing the whole Dingus thing... Well... not technically "saving" so to speak. I'm keeping the character but trashing everything else. Looking back, it was kind of retarded...

Paper Prototype

... I'm kinda nervous, but I don't know why... I'm not sure what else to type. I guess I could put a bunch of details as to why I'm nervous, but that would just be cheap filler...

Arc the Shot!

I just got a game idea that I totally want to make. Origin is good and all, but I think it should be saved for later. My new game is What Not to Do: With Dingus, which puts you in the role of... whoever as you equip and inform Dingus of the proper equiptment and information to do completely random tasks ranging from making grilled cheese to prepairing for a space launch. Of course, there are a multitude of wrong answers that lead Dingus to ruining toasters, knocking down buildings, blowing up Wisconsin, and many other random "game overs". I guess you could say it's educational, it teaches you how to make grilled cheese, the basics of playing the violin, and proper ettiquette for eating at a fancy restaurant (or that you can't cut steak with a chainsaw). Overall, the main draw of the game is making dingus do really stupid stuff in (mostly) normal situations. The only not normal situation is the last segment of the astronaut level, which is named "What Not to do When Fighting a Giant Space Monster". The answer will leave you baffled.

Origin

I couldn't think of another game to make in Flash so I'm going with Origin, the game I've been invisioning for eight years now. I'm not sure how it'll play out, mostly because Origin is an FPS. But I'm sure I can simplify a game that I've spent years beefing up. And besides, by making the game, it should be copyrighted to me... hopefully. Origin getting taken from me is my greatest fear, even though I have a better game idea on back-up.

Unimagining My Game

I honestly have no idea what to make. All of my ideas are for more... complicated games, and thus my reason for taking these classes. I'm gonna need some help with this one...

R.E. Favorite Game

I just now realized exactly how off subject that blog was. I mean, LOOK at it!

Favorite Game Trouble

Not only am I a little late to the freakin' party, I have absolutely no idea what my favorite game is. Or even genre! So I'm gonna try to ad lib some stupid "I can't pick one favorite" crap.

Where to start...

I don't really have a favorite game, because I like different games for different reasons. I like Oblivion for the mass customization and role-playing, and I like (for lack of a better example) Halo for its fast paced combat. I have noticed, however, the more of different types of games I play, the easier it is to get the brain juices flowing for different gameplay aspects. Fast paced games get my combat system ideas flowing, as where RPGs get my customization story gears cranking (for unknown reasons, the less story a game has, the more story stuff I think of). Holy crap... It's like a freakin' game. Playing other games to raise my skill level with conceiving different concepts... Now I sound like a retard.

Carrot got pwned

Not only did I get the bunny to move, I also have a freakin' timer! And a Poison Carrot that drops your score! I feal so cool right now it's insane. I hope we're still gonna work on it, 'cause I keep thinkin' of new stuff, like a gold carrot that flys across the screen really freakin fast, and make the poison carrot and real carrot work better. Screw it! I'm askin' home dude if I can still work on it and upload another one.

Creature Uncomforts

I'm totally not used to this bloggin stuff, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Now that I'm that I'm thinkin about it, I bet my blogs suck.

Carrot is gonna get pwned

I totally made a carrot move across a screen... soon it'll be the bellows of distant gunfire. Now all I have to do is get the rabbit to move, put in scoring, and probably a bunch of other stuff that sounds so much easier than it really is. Glad this class is a show as ya go deal... Crap... I bet it won't last...

September 12th, is a piece of !

Name and purpose of the game: September 12th. I guess it was intended to deter people from... violence? All I know is it made me want to get violent with whoever made it.
Describe it from a learner's point of view and a developer’s point of view: I guess the learner is supposed to get completely confused because the developer is trying to smash his peace-sign-waving ways into the learner's noodle
Design Analysis (Does it look good? Does it clearly illustrate the scientific the concept?): It clearly illustrates that it's a BORING game. I never in a thousand years would have thought watching bombs fall on people would make me yawn. As far as appearance goes, ummm... have you ever played Lemmings? And I love how they ripped off Halo's AR reticle.
Usability Analysis (Is it clear what you need to do as a user? Does it work well?): <-(HA! Just noticed) It's about as clear as... well it's kinda hard to be clear when the game has no point... LITERALLY!
Suggestions for improvement: How about a point system... for... ... heck I don't know...
2-3 things that you would like to learn how to do (in terms of functionality, design or content): First I'd like to learn how to make a game that's the polar opposite of 9/12 *(fun, playable, actually has a POINT!!)* ...I can't think of anything else... I guess that covers it. get pooped on.

Day 1... 72 hours remain

Expect to see a lot of random video game referances in the future.
